So ive been dealing with a constant chirping noise on my c5 and its driving me nuts. I pulled both the main and ac belt and the noise was still there so I replaced the balancer and no luck (really pissed ) Ive changed idlers and belts and the noise is still there. I recently did a head swap so new lifters, push rods, gaskets, etc. So im looking for ideas on what other things can make a constant chirping noise, ive heard possibly a water pump or oil pump. Is there a possibility that it could be the rockers (stock 63k miles)? Any help is appreciated as the next step is take the whole damn motor apart.

Wow. Can't be coolant pump then.
Seems you've eliminated all of the external rotating components and upper internal engine components.
Hmm... Constant chirp noise, not a/c tensioner, balancer or water pump.
How about emission related?
Can you pin down location with a stethoscope?
I tried with a piece of hose and it didnt work too well ill have to see if a friend has one, or buy one. Looking at posts for similar noises someone said possible oil pump which isnt worth the work and bs. Does anyone know if bad rocker bearings would cause the noise?
It's possible for an oil pump or rockers.
I know its frustrating, but do the stethoscope diagnosis as just about anything can make a chirp noise. Ive even heard push rods chirp. Yes chirp not tick.
You will get all kinds of advise on what to replace. I myself have had a chirp that was corrected by a new a/c belt. Two years later another chirp was repaired by installing a new coolant pump.
