I have had these come up twice in the last 2 weeks. I have read all (most) of the posts regarding this failure and I am preparred to replace the EBCM.
My question is both times the code popped up, the engine felt like is was firing on just two cylinders. Is the engine misfire related to the codes? Bad G101 ground? Is that "Limp" mode? Thanks in advance for the advice.
What other codes are stored?? The 2 codes you posted should not result in any misfire conditions.
Pull and post all your codes including the H ot C or HC that follow each code.
Thank you for the reply. I believe those were the only two and I cleared them. I will make sure they're aren't any others the next time it happens.
It definitely was missing. The car would barely roll with 1/2 throttle. It literally sounded (and shook) like only 3-4 of the cylinders were firing.
Does the ECBM share ground points with any of the fuel injectors? I am going to go through and check/clean the GND points tonight. I'll pull out the service manual to see what the coresponding grounds are for the fuel injectors as well.
