Default Thin Spoke question

Can anyone tell me if 265 X 35 X 18 s mounted on stock rear 18 X 9.5 wheels can be used in the front of a stock height C5 without clearence or rubbing issues?

Thinking of going with above mentioned on the front and 295 X 35 X 18 s mounted on 18 X 10.5 replicas in the rear, anyone see a problem with this combination? Thanks for the help.

I just mounted 275x35x18 (9.5) rear thin spokes on the font of my stock height 2000 coupe. No issues with clearance at all. I currently have the stock 275x40x18 (9.5) on the rear. This almost duplicates the factory stagger regarding front to rear overall diameter (25.7 front/26.7 rear) with the 275x35 front coming in at 25.6. I will probably change the rear to a 295x35x18 but on the 9.5 OEM thin spoke (yes I know that most will say that you need a 10.5 rim for that size but I have seen many mounted on 9.5 and they do not looked strecthed at all). The 295x35 will be shorter overall than the factory 275x40 by just over a half inch (26.1 vs 26.7) but will still give me a difference of a half inch and not trigger any TC/AH issues. The 10.5 replicas are close but not exact matches to the OEM polished thin spokes. Your combo (265 front 295 rear x35 on 18's will give you the following stagger, 25.3 front and 26.1 rear which should be ok as well.

Thanks for the answer, thats what I was hoping for as far as fit and tire bias. Can you tell me how much different the replicas are, can you tell the difference from 10 feet?

Thanks again

I am assuming you have the OEM polished thin spokes. They are polished through the barrel as well. The replicas I have seen are bright chromed only at the spokes and lip and have a satin barrel finish. When both wheels are at their cleanest you can notice the difference from a distance. Also the polished wheels will never be as bright as the chrome but they have a patina that is unmistakeable. I happen to like it better. Having said that I doubt most would notice the difference at all. I have thought about having a rear set widened but the cost is somewhat high and even with the seam polished it is noticeable. Also the increase would have to placed at the rear of the wheel which would increase the offset. It may or maynot make the wheel rub. I just have not figured it out yet. But I will try the 295x35's on the 9.5 and see how they work first.

Default Thin spoke?

I have a 1998 corvette with z06 wheels 17x9.5 Front and 18x10.5 Rear. I have 245-45-17 on the front wheels and 285-35-18 on the rear. Works great and traction is acceptable. I personally wouldn't want 265's in the front, but I heard you get more cornering power and front grip! You should go with 265's in front and 295's in rear just like the original 2002 z06.
