Default TTS Header Install

Just got a set of TTS L/T headers for my 99 coupe. How much clearance is needed from below to do the install? Can it be done with jacks/jack stands/ramps?

Also, how major is the installation and how long did it take?

I was able to Install my TPIS from ramps and jackstands. Not sure on the install time on the TTS headers, I would say allow 4-5 hours !!!

Good Luck

I'm having my TTS LTs installed next week. From what I have heard they are a little harder to install then other headers.

It may be possible, but I am sure a lift will be much much easier. You must loosen one rear motor mount bolt on the passenger side and raise the motor about one inch.

Mine were installed from the top. Not the bottom.

OK - We have the engine raised, valve covers off, coli packs off, battery out and have tried shifting the starter......still no go to get the TTS's in fron the top on the passenger side. We have scoped out putting in from the bottom but its looks even more hopeless.

Any suggestions????

You have to remove the starter and the three wires holding on it. TTS are a PAIN to install. Add on an extra 3 hours to install them compared to all the other headers due to the misc things you have to remove. Get the starter out and jack the motor up and it'll come out from the top. Barely.

Remove the steering shaft and oil filter on passenger side and jacke the motor up, remove valve covers, also, it'll go in easier than the passenger.

We're making progress.....how about reinstalling the oil dipstick tube...does it need to be bent to fit the new install?

Yes the tube must be bent!

I received a set of installatiom instruction with the TTS Headers, did your supplier not give you a set, that would have made the installation much easier!

If not blame your supplier! If you need a set, email me!
