Default Quick XS Power Header Install Question

Hello,

Im installing an A&A SC kit on my 01 Auto Vert. Im considering a set of XS Power Headers w/ cats, before I get it tuned.

Ive searched and I always read that these headers are easy to install. Can someone give additional install information?
What needs to come off for the install?
Would it be easier while I have the needed parts off to pin my crank?

While Im here, I'll also ask if anyone knows what kind of power gain I would expect from the headers. I will have 8-9 lbs of boost and a cat back Magna Flow System.

Thanks,
Jason

gains are subject to the type tune you get (safe or on the line) These headers are fairly easy to install. I removed the coils, wires, spark plugs, and valve covers. Also the plastic battery surround thing, along with removing the steering link from the rack and tied that out of the way. Only other thing is the possiblity of having to unbold the lower nut of each engine mount to gain an additional 1 inch of clearance. I do not remember if I had to loosen the ac compressor from the engine for these or one of the other sets I ran. If you find you do have to loosen it, you can remove the bolts and nuts, and then just remove the studs and it allows enough room to move the compressor out of the way without having to disconnect from the lines.

I would assume over factory C5 exhaust, you could gain 20-40ish (or more since going A&A) in power.

Geeze, I wouldn't think you'd have to remove any thing besides the ground strap on the drivers side, possibly the alternator, plugs & may have to loosen the motor mount nuts/bolts to get a slight lift upwards.
That's all I had to do to sqeeze my LG Pro long tubes in.
Good luck.

I just installed the XS Power long tubes this winter. Superman09 has a great write up on the install with pics and descriptions. Following his directions, I removed the alternator, coils and brackets, plugs and plug wires, AIR tubes and starter. That's about it. The XS Power headers went in no problem, the passenger side was a little tricky but it fits with no need to remove motor mount bolts or anything else. Excellent headers, great price and they don't leak.

I had to loosen the motor mounts on the passenger side and jack the engine up slightly. No big deal.

Understandable

You didn't need to pull the valve covers, starter & disconnect the steering rod joint, did you?
