Default BCM change and dealer programming?

For a BCM change I know the dealer needs to program it for it to work. What exactly are they programming? Is it so the VATS will work? Anything more than the security stuff?

Thanks 8Vette7

My tuner said he could turn off the security options through the tuning software, wasn't sure what else it needed.

They program all the options the car was built with.

If a new BCM is installed and the PCM/BCM relearn procedure is completed, the car starts and runs fine. The key FOB works. However there are some strange things happening. The power seat switch controls the telescoping wheel. Does this get resolved after the BCM is programmed with the RPO's are completed with the Tech 2?

The SCM controls the telescoping steering wheel but yes, the car's systems and programming needs to know that its there.
