Default A/C Low Side & High Side Test Ports

Can anyone confirm for me the location on a 99 C5 with AUTO HVAC:

1. The high side port (from the front of the car) is basically between the left side of the radiator and the front right side of the engine coolant tank, very near the engine collant level wiindow.

2. The low side port is about a foot behind the oil dipstck, and right next to the battery, but on the other side of the battery compartment "wall".

Thanks

In this here pictar, you can see the low-side port:

The high-side port is about where you said it was, and it should also have a plastic cover like that on it.

Further development. After recharging with the R134 feon, and disconnecting the hose, the low side port itself leaked for a few hours, until I believe all the freon is out of the system again.

Now, the AC will not stay on and the compressor doesn't engage.

What is the solution for a leaking low side test port??

Thanks

Probably to replace that hose assembly.

One detail to add. The port leaked even after I put the cap back on. Could it be just the cap??

Thanks

That'd be pretty ballsy for GM to use plastic like that to seal up a 250psi system...

It's just there to keep debris out.

After paging throught the service manual again to troubleshoot, it ended up being a bad valve core.

Just took out the valve, almost identical to a bicycle tire valve. $4 total for the part. Made up for the $35 I spent on the freon that leaked out.

System is now cooling well.
