What is missing from my radiator?

What is missing from my radiator?
I was changing out my outside air temp sensor and noticed a hole in my radiator probably 3" above the drain petcock. It looks like it has threads as if its a bung for something. As far as I know I'm not losing coolant. Is this normal?

Separate passageways inside. Same radiator for both cars.

If you are not the original owner it may be a PO had the radiator replaced and they used a radiator from an automatic since it was available and a radiator for a manual wasn't available. I notice the lower radiator hose isn't stock so there has been some work done in the area.

I considered that as well so out of curiosity I checked. Same GM part number for both cars. I haven't had a stock radiator for a couple years now, but it seems like I recall seeing the same thing on my MM6 car as well.I agree with you Bill. That area does look rather clean, etc.
