Default Help removing stock air duct

I'm working on this right now, trying to replace the stock air duct with a high flow one. I can't get the duct away from the MAF. I've removed the clamp and peeled down the rubber over top of the duct. I can't pull it away to save my life. Is it really this hard to do?

I did not do my own install of my Vortex. I am thinking of taking the whole Vortex box off to so I can work the duct off. The screws shown here, are there nuts behind them? If I unscrew these? What's going to be involved in putting the vortex back on?

This is how it looks now...

These are the screws...

Please reply if you have some advice since I am working on this right now.

When I put on my power duct the stock duct came loose from the MAF very easy. I know of no other holding devise once you remove the clamp. Keep trying.

I took the Vortex off, so disregard the question about screws.

Still can't get the duct away from the MAF. The rubber seems to be really holding it in place.

Ok, this is how it looks, the rubber is making it impossible to pull this duct away from the MAF. What's the trick?

If I peel down the rubber, I can see that the duct has good seal to it, but could be released...

Should I douse thing with oil to loosen things up? It won't budge!

Use a flat blade screw driver and carefully insert it between the MAF and the rubber boot in a few places. Be careful and just keep working with it. Mine was also really tight but it will come off.I did not use the boot on the carbon fiber duct on install. Hope this helps.

Yes, that did the trick. I also need to use my super human strength to pull it away. It's off. Now I'm puzzled about how to get this little sensor out the duct without breaking it. Working on that right now...

To get the sensor is a problem at least it was for me.(I broke mine). Be real careful it should come out. I had to get a new one at the dealer it was about 16 or 17 dollars. I have read here that some guys have removed them with good success.Good Luck!
