The diff is in the top part of teh device.. ON the V1 the lips that overlap the two intakes is shorter.. and folks were complaining that the filter would loose seal... They increased the overlap which helped.
A while back they had a deal wher B1 owners could buy the B2 top only. I did that and then silconed into each a K&N filter. That way nothing can get by the filter element.
Fit and finish ar ethe only drawbacks to teh system that I can find..

this, and the b1 had rubber hooks to close the top to the bottom and the b2 has metal snaps to prevent the top separating from the bottom while driving... i also siliconed my filter in the top and would highly recommend doing that... the b2 also has different mounting brackets behind the bumper... i think the b1 was better, it had factory foglight shrouds riveted onto the ram tubes of the vararam and the b2 shroud is completely different... the mounting holes were drilled out by hand and are a bit too big, i had to use flat washers to keep the bolt head from just going through the holes... crappy build quality but once you get it on it does work

Huh.. my B2 has the same rubber "dodads" the the B1 had.. only the lip is bigger.. so mine are directly interchangeable. Metal snaps would be a huge upgrade
