Default fuel system upgrading

Ok, so my plans next year include heads and probably a fast intake to get the full use of my cam and get a few more bolt on ponies.

So my project this summer is to get the still stock fuel system up to par. Nothing would suck worse than to do all the head work and running static on injectors, pump, etc before the tune has reached full potential. So questions are:

Im probably going to use 42lb injectors, so got that down. But what about the boost a pump wire/harness? Is that a must on our c5s? And how hard is the harness install?

Next, do I need to upgrade my fuel pump? And if so, how hard is that install? I guess im wondering if I can get away with only doing the harness until/unless my stock pump craps out and then going thru the pain or replacing it.

Oh, and can I expect to pickup any hp by simply upgrading the current fuel system, considering it is not yet maxed with current mods?

That all sound familiar.

I went with a set of flow matched 42# injectors from

www.fuelinjectorconnection.com

Their product code ls142

I figured that my old fuel pump was probably going to be a problem and I wasn't crazy about going the booster route because it just adds another variable to the mix if your chasing a fuel delivery problem.

I used LPE's high volume pump and the whole system works like a champ.

Thank you for your reply. The injector website is a good source I wasn't aware of.

The plan is to hookup the hotwire kit and hopefully never replace the fuel pump unless it just breaks. The question is the hotwire kit enough since my plan overall is 450rwhp motor and 600rwhp on nitrous on this build. And does replacing the pump require dropping the fuel tank on this car?

1.) No. It won't hurt anything, and is an improvement, but still not enough given your stated goals.
2.) Can't answer. You never said what year model you have.

Sorry its an 02. It seems there may be differences in later 90s models and newer 00s models. I wanna make sure I get the right pump.
