In the process of changing out the rubber bushings and trying to "refresh" the shifting. The bolt that attaches the shifter box to the linkage was facing downwards. I've seen pictures and diagrams where its supposed to be facing up. I'm not sure how that's supposed to work, the threading on the pinch bracket is on the top, meaning to thread it in, it would have to go through the bottom. Was this changed in a certain year or something? It isn't really making a lot of sense to me.
The head of the torx bolt is at the top.
Of course it's also tightened from the top.
Use some blue loc tite on the threads.
Also set a rag over the head of the bolt, then push the torx bit thrugh the rag & into the bolt.
This way you have less chance of wallering out the torx head slots.
Good luck
