Exact same codes minus the tail lights. Followed Bill's lead .
So far, so good with no codes and DIC and gauges acting normally. The door plugs were the last thing I tried after Bill led me to them. They looked normal, but I cleaned them anyway. I have my fingers crossed.
That's interesting! Since my car was new, I always got a ticking noise for the first few miniutes until the car warms up. I always assumed it was a lifter and when the oil heated up and thickened the issue went away. Now you have me thinking. I guess the only way to check this out is to replace all spark plugs and wires since from what I have read, getting the spark plugs out destroys the wires, etc.
Interesting. I get a ticking noise when I start my 2002, and it goes away after warmup. Also, I occasionally get a miss when I give full throttle/power brake, like when starting at autocross. A loose plug could cause that combination I would think. I'll have to check it out.
plugs after removing the accordions. These plugs were perfect and shiny clean. Cleaned them anyway. Now will wait to see if the IPC acts up again and throws the communication codes. I wonder if I am going to have to pull the IPC and check for connections at it?
How did we ever put a man on the moon--oh that was not GM!
I tried to get at my connectors after I pulled the rubber accordian out on the drivers side --- but the amount of wire I could free up in order to get my hands on the connectors (there are 2 of them) so I could pull them apart was so short that I couldn't get the job done. What tricks did you use here. I have a 2003 VERT and even my connectors look different than the pictures here.
