TTS LT Headers and Corsa X-pipe install COMPLETED!!!
We finished up the install of the TTS Long Tubes and Corsa X-pipe! Just got back from the initial test drive.......WOW!!! :eek: These were the transplants from Nates 99 Coupe at Xtreme.
The TTS install was a pain in the butt, especially the passenger side....but was worth it. Thanks to wallstAL, C5Noir & YELLOWDREAMZ for their tips and assistance. Also some last minute telephone help from Xtreme late on Saturday afternoon.
Now ready to roll to Bowling Green for the Cruise-In!!!! :cool:

Believe me (I'm wickedvette's son), the neighbors are already pissed off. :D
We started the car with the headers and x-pipe in, but no mufflers. It was thumping the walls! After we attached the mufflers, the idle was actually a lot quieter. The x-pipe definately got rid of the "motorboat" sound at idle. Now it is more like a true sports car, with just a rumble. BUT, when you get on the throttle, it's about twice as loud. It also has a deeper tone, and screams a lot more at the high rpms (above 5 grand). It still pops a little bit, but with the headers, it's more like a muted bang.
Definately a SOTP response, not once have I ever thought "oh crap" when he nailed the gas before, until now. :) :) :) :)
Also about how much do you gain from going to the larger cats?

Glad you got em in. The hardest part of the install for me was the pass side header. Just did not seem like it wanted to go. But I lifted the engine up evenly and tried to get the pass side in. I ended up rocking the engine towards the drivers side and it dropped in. That is why I told you to just raise the pass side of the engine up. I just added a 2002 Z06 intake and am impressed with the low end torque jump.....just trying to spend some more of your money.

Thanks, somehow we managed, even though we had no installation instructions... Passenger side was raised the whole time, but we didn't think(until a last ditch effort) that taking the starter out would help since we might not be able to get it back in. We were obviously wrong...
