Default valve covers

there are valve covers everywhere. but does ANYONE make a valve cover that is higher to fit aftermarket rockers but still fits the LS1?

I have the high gaskets but they are leaking and i cant seem to get the tension right to seal or stay sealed. Has anyone had any luck with the 1/2" spacers you can buy?

Yes, they are from Nasty performance. The sit above the valve cover slightly.... they are not in the exact oem location. Not sure of any tall covers that offer the coils in the stock location. They are like the Katech covers and kit. Option of either fabbed or billet. I can send you a link or pics if you like. I'll give you free shipping on them, Nasty wont..

I have teh UMI spacers on mine. I think Yella Terra also makes a super thick gasket that will work the same way.

With the UMI spacer, the coil bracket doesn't clear the alternator.

Just about any tall valve cover will require some grinding on the alternator bracket to fit properly. Currently, I have a set of MTI Racing valve covers. I had to slightly modify the stock coils for them to bolt on to the bracket. I believe that the MSD coils will bolt on without modification (to the MTI coil brackets). However, those coils are on serious backorder.

Getting ready to install a set of Katech carbon fiber valve covers, and the stock coils bolt right to the individual brackets without any modification.

I used to have stock valve covers with a 1/2" spacer. Initially had a issue with oil leakage but solved it by using some Perma-tex Type 2 sealant and properly centering the covers. Use a mirror and frequently check the covers/gaskets while you are tightening the valve cover bolts and it will be just fine.

Default Tall Valve Covers

We make these 1-pc Billet Aluminum valve covers.
Perhaps they may be what you are looking for.
I agree that any tall valve cover may cause a close fit to the alternator.

Some specs on the valve cover are:
- No spacers needed
- Uses regular GM gasket
- Tall enough to clear Jesel rocker arms
- Custom engraving is also available (addl. cost)

Here are some pictures...
