If you are getting p-1516/1515 you will have to try the air sensor cleaning method found in the thread and if that doesn't work replace..
the 1278 code I am having now and it seems the consensus is the steering wheel position sensor... Needs replace.. I think certain year c5's don't have them available right now though... I have been turning off my active handling when I start up for now as driving along and having the left rear brake kiss the rotor at 70 mph is more than unnerving... lol..
Good luck! Mathia did his and Bill Curlee is such an asset to the forum and helpful.. If you have tech questions drop him a line but give him some time to respond. He is very busy at times traveling and working.
Take care

Here's how to tell if its the pigtail. While the car is running (might need another person to stay in the car and nurse it because I know it will want to shut down on you) wiggle the wires and the pigtail at the throttle control motor. Also, push and pull on the connector itself. Don't rip it out but don't be a fairy about it. I think that will show you whats up. Good luck!
P.S. For future reference, when your redneck buddy tells you to wiggle the wires, just wiggle the damn wires. I didn't believe that it would do anything so I didn't. A year later, I decided to try it.

I do not want to go into the details of someone's bill. However, the car came in for electrical diagnostics, a burnt A/C line, R-134A A/C service, full street tune, and AC module repair. The A/C line was replaced, the A/C service was performed. The AC module repair was performed, however, the unit did go dim on Literacola soon after the repair. So we bought him a replacement unit and sent it down there free of charge along with having him keep his original unit for the inconvenience. The full street tune was performed and that was fine.
When the car was brought to us, L/C had a problem which was anelectrical problem; P1516, P1281, P1064, P1096 were the codes reported to us by L/C when the car came in. We had found some ground issues, pinched battery cover between ground bolt & frame (Bad contact), and changed out the battery bolt. For this we had charged him $368 to perform the repairs. Doug had then street tuned it and had no problem with the active handling/traction control/P15xx codes. However, L/C had reported to us on his way home and then further operation of the vehicle he had seen the P1514/1516 code come back. Due to distance he was unable to bring the car back up to us. We had agreed to pay him back in full for the electrical diagnostic repairs, on 7/7/11 there was a check cut for that labor amount.
Unfortunately, with a modified vehicle that then has electrical problems there can be multiple fixes for the said problem. We knew in good faith that our technician's did their best to prevent this problem from happening again and did perform numerous repairs to the electrical system as stated above. However, this did not fix the problem. We felt after speaking with L/C a few times that a full refund for the electrical diagnostics was in order, so we wrote him a refund check for all electrical labor charged, and sent it out with his replacement A/C module.
So yes, we were paid for an electrical diagnostics which did not fix his said problem, therefore, we refunded the labor charges in full. The rest of the " $1200 and made no difference", was fixing other problems with the vehicle and the street tune.
I will not be further discussing this in the OP's thread as this is not fair to him.
