Power antenna won't go down on my 2001 Vert. Makes bad clicking sound at the motor. Whether i'm trying to get it to go up or down. Need to know what to do. Need to know if i need to buy a new motor or antenna, or just rebuild the motor. Where do you get this stuff without spending an arm and a leg? And how to do it.

It probably can be fixed by replacing the mast and cable from the top side in about 5 minutes. Search for a post by DeeGee with instructions and pictures. The mast is less than 20 bucks.
And where's the best place to get the mast and cable?
Probably a broken cable part of which is inside the motor. I posted several years detail on how the remove the motor thru right taillight and drill out the plastic rivets. Carefully take apart the top of the motor and remove the broken plastic tang which has broken off the antenna.
Relubricate and then put the motor back together. Look at the web site and download the instructions. They also sell on fleabay.
My new mast has been installed for about 5 years and works the same as the OEM mast.
Ok. Turned radio on and got old cable and Antenna out I can see on the cable where it is messed up. The motor does not bind now, but I would like to know how much cable may be broken off and down in the motor. I might still have to pull out the motor and check. How long is the cable originally? Does any body know?

I got a new antenna and compared it to the original one. As I remember the teethed plastic cable at the bottom of the antenna was about a foot and a half long. However long it was the original was about 8 or 10 inches shorter. The rest of the toothed cable was stuck inside the motor and gear assembly. Thats when I read the instructions on antennamastsrus.com website and proceeded to remove the motor and gear assembly thru the right tail light. I removed both lenses to get more access. I never had to disconnect the wiring as it was long enough to work on the motor with the wires over the rear bumper. If you need more info don't hesitate to call them at antennamastsrus. They were very informative and helpful.
