I have a 1999 C5 that has been a track only car for a very long time. The ABS module quit working about 4 years ago. Since parts are scarce and very expensive I have not replace the module. Unfortunately, the last time I checked the 1999 cannot be repaired.
I either want to remove it and delete the ABS system entirely or possibly update to a newer system. I think I remember the 02-04' Z06 being better than my 1999.
I have not talked to anyone who can say the system can simply be removed from the car. No one seems to be sure of the results.

Can anyone help with this?
There is no practical way to upgrade the system. I do not know how to go about removing it completely.
Thanks! I didn't think there was. For about $10K I can put an after market Bosch or something like that. That is way out of my range.
I am more nuts and bolts than electronics and computers. However, for most of the popular upgrades someone comes up with a plug and play harness adapter. Don't know till you ask.
So, now I am down to a simple clean removal. Some people think the fluid commingles within the pump. I don't know for sure. Since my car is older I do know the bias spring is in the master, so that would eliminate that issue.

Reason: Bosche
My ABS sensor started acting up about 3 years ago. Removal is pretty straightforward as long as the engine is cold. Everything is done up top. ABSfixer has a website that has a how to on removal and they may even a model sensor that can work for your 99.

Thanks, but I am looking to completely remove the entire ABS Module and Pump Assembly resulting in a non ABS car.
Why not just re-plumb the box out and install an adjustable bias valve? I did this on my TR8 to eliminate the proportioning valve and it works fine. You can get a valve from Sumit fo 40 bucks and even get one to mount inside the car. I've also had a few Pontiac GPs, one with ABS/TC and two without. The brakes themselves are the same except Rock Auto lists a different master. I can't say I've done this on a Vette but would think it's just a matter of figuring out the plumbing.

Thanks! That has been my plan, but cannot find anyone who can say for certain it can be done without creating braking havoc. I have raced for the past 4 seasons without it and will not miss it. I fixed it several times back in 01' and 03' but gave up the last time.
It looks very strait forward. The ABS pump even has the lines labeled as to where they go!
