I got a check engine light and a misfire code due to a missed shift that zinged the motor a bit.
I pulled all of the pushrods and found one of them slightly bent (#5 intake), just bowed really. it's obvious when you roll it but not when you just look at it.
I put everything back together and still have the misfire.
so I checked the wires and thought the #7 was toasted a bit so I pulled it and replaced it with the oem wire.
still have the misfire.
So I pulled the plugs and the #7 was the only one that looked fouled. (everything on the business end of the plug was black and souty except for the electrode which looked clean)
I cleaned the plug (sand papered the tip and electrode and sprayed with brake clean).
Hi there,
If your pushrod was bent, you have a nearly 100% chance that so is the valve.
When these engines are overrevved, you will most likely bend the valves.
Sorry for the bad news, c4c5
