Car is stock 2003 convertible with 18.5k. Got the messages. I believe I re-started once and only saw the messages again just as I was shutting off; then re-started again and had them come on again while I was driving. The codes that evening were:
TCS C1214 H; C1248 H; C1255 H
IPC U1160 H
LDCM B2282 H; U1064 H
RDCM U1064 H
I have had those two sets of *DCM codes since I got the car in November 2011 with 16k on it.
Before I do that, let me disclose that I will not be working on this problem, because I don't like working on cars, and because I just sustained 12 fractures on 8 right side ribs. It's going to a trusted dealer tomorrow.
I would imagine that serious DIC codes will re-appear for them if I clear them. What I'm concerned about is - will clearing the readable DIC codes clear anything else that the dealer can see with other diagnostic tools? In general, will clearing the DIC today compromise at all their ability to diagnose?
I know that I did not have any of the TCS codes, nor the IPC code, when the vehicle was new to me, 2500 miles and 6 months ago.
EBCM failure. Been there, done that....unfortunately. I would have it mailed off to ABSFixer. Maybe you can get a friend to help you remove it so you can mail it off? It would be a shame to pay a dealer to do that.
Agreed, but from my searching and reading, I got the impression that ABSfixer would only address the relay identified by the 1214 code. And that the 1255 code involved things that he could not fix, and might require a new EBCM. Is that true?
