WIndow noise part II
Every time I take it in to the dealer I cringe, am I alone?
P.S. - Does anyone know of such a place in Central NJ, PA area.
I would experience wind noise in my 2000 coupe at approximately 80-85 mph. I took the car to a local Chevy dealer and asked them to replace both window seals or weatherstripping. It worked. When I got my car back it seemed quieter and certainly, the wind noise had vanished.

You are not alone. I think that many of us cringe at the thought of going to a Chevy dealership.
I have been to many GM dealerships through the years, but other than Corvettes, I have only had German cars since the mid-80s. I have been able to take any Mercedes to any Mercedes dealer and be confident that they would fix it. These dealerships and their service advisors go out of their way to satisfy the customer - free food and drinks, movie tickets, free loaner cars, free phone use, free internet access, free fax service, free car washes whether or not you are in for service, etc., etc. Not only that, they really fix the car! And, from personal experience, foreign car service is not necessarily more expensive than Chevy dealer service.
Chevy dealerships on the other hand, sometimes seem to be doing their best to present the most unappealling atmosphere. Service advisors are poorly trained, don't care, give B.S. when they don't know answers to simple questions, and seem to be trying to do their best to discourage repeat business. The last Chevy waiting room I was in barely rivaled a Greyhound Bus station. Of course, it had great vending machines, but the lady at the Parts Counter Cashier didn't like to give change, and made sure you knew it. Worse than this, you cannot always depend on the Chevy dealership to fix the problem. Often, they do not fix it, or they make the original problem worse, or they mess up something else. Then, to top it all off, they give you another line of B.S. All I can say is that many villages have been deprived of their idiots, and they all gathered at the Chevy dealership.
Oh yeah! I was trying to answer your question about warranty if you have maintenance done by non-GM. I would think that Canada is the same as the U.S. You are not required to have maintenance done by a GM dealer. If you have service done by GM, then their computer will show that you have complied with their maintenance schedule. If you have it done by non-GM, they may say that you have to prove they you complied with their maintenance schedule or that the non-GM did something to void the warranty. This is designed to "encourage' people not to take their cars to non-GM - and it works. So, if you go to non-GM, keep good records.
Watch your milage (mark it down). I left one at a Dealer in the city and the boys decided they wanted to use it for joy rides?
This stuff never happens on my dad's lexus, even now when it's 10 yrs old. It always comes out done right, even now when it's no longer under warranty.
Who do you use?
I wonder if it my be worth going to Richmond hill for the 'fest' to get any good leads.

Same satisfaction your having with Wilson Niblets.
Not going to be easy to get GM to pay a non GM shop for warranty work unless your using an aftermarket warranty company.
Where are you in Toronto?
