Took my girl outta storage a couple weeks ago. Today I took her out at night. Noticed that one of my headlights is not popping up as high as the other one. Tried the manual **** but it only goes up so high then stops. Is this a gear issue? This is the first time the lights have been up since I put her away in November.
Almost forgot, I can lift the headlight up to the correct position but it doesn't stay up when I let it go.

Thanks for any help.

If your manual **** won't complete the opening, you probably have a flat spot on the gear wheel. Its a simple fix. Purchase a kit from
Rodney Dickman.....He sells a complete kit. I purchased two kits from them...one for each headlight. The kit comes with great instructions and pictures.

Is there a picture tutorial that shows how to remove just the motor without removing the entire headlight assembly?
Thanks,
Les
Yes....They write the instructions...in order of the steps and what is next. Even I could follow them. The kit is complete, with grease, brass gear, T-brace and washers and where they go.

So, I get the new gears from Rodney Dickman and this afternoon I go to change the gears on the passenger light first. I take the shroud off and take a look, I notice that the lever that connects to the light assembly is disconnected. I look around the inside of the bumper area and there is the pin. I pick up a push nut from the local hardware store and 2 minutes later, my light is working just fine. Somehow that push nut worked its way off and the pin fell out. Oh well.
