It happens more and more often now that when I try to unlock the car with the key fob, the interior lights come on but the driver side door doesn't unlock. Hitting "unlock" again usually does the trick, and then both doors unlock.
I'm pretty sure the car knows unlock has been pressed (lights come on, and it counts this command towards the two needed for the passenger door unlock), but for some reason doesn't do it the first time around.
I'm wondering if there's a mechanical issue that requires repeated actuator efforts to overcome, since an electrical problem that manifests itself so repeatably seems pretty unlikely.
Pull your codes paying particular attention to the LDCM. Most likely you've got a bad relay in the door control module but it could also be a serial interface wiring issue in the doorjam connector.
No codes, absolutely nothing. And why would a bad relay or wiring always work on the 2nd try? If it was that, I'd expect it to either work or not - maybe until the car got warm, or cold, or vibrated, or...
That's why I was thinking mechanical.

I had this problem with my '03 ZO6 and used a squirt of WD-40 in the keyhole. Work it a few times with the key inserted in the lock (careful the trunk might open). Then work the manual door lock from inside a few times. Haven't had the problem in over a year now.
