Noisy c5 a/c compressor
Not real loud. Just loud enough to be annoying. Not the tensioners or the pulleys. Coming from inside the compressor. Getting cold air. At first when I would turn it on it would stall the engine. Suspected a hydraulic lock. I took the temp to 90DF and front defrost. Now the compressor just makes a low rattling noise and does not shut the engine down. Someone spoke of a possible available additive. Been wrestling with this for a year. Losing patience. Any suggestions?

Sounds like it could be the AC compressor clutch, mine made a similar noise then a week later it had died on me. I went ahead and had the AC compresser, dryer and line swapped out and now she blows nice and cold, just in time for summer in Texas.
