Default Replace Auto Shifter ****

Has anyone with an AUTO trans replaced the stock shifter **** with the adapter kit and a regular (6 speed style) shifter ****? Please tell me some feedback, how do you like it, is it easy to operate, height issues, any regrets? I'm thinking about doing this mod but would like your expert feedback! THANKS.

I replaced the auto shifter **** with another direct replacement ****. It was easy but I didn't like the new **** and swapped back to stock. The other one was metal, so it varied a lot in temperature and had some "sharp" edges which is why I did not like it.

The new **** was then given to another forum member last christmas in the Pay It Forward thread.

I've done it, and I like what I finally ended up with. I had the brushed metal one with the sharp edges...it's alright, but there is a better one. Black with the C5 logo on it...very smooth, and great feel when you are cruising. The adapter (there is only one design) is very good, but you have to be careful to balance the pressure of the two set screws that hold the **** in place. Otherwise, your **** will come off in your hands occasionally. I keep the small Allen wrench in my center console to make the repair if I am out and about when it happens. But, you can still shift, even without the ****, so no biggy. Don't worry about the additional height...it is very minor and you won't even notice it.

I bought a set up from SickSpeed and you just push the ball
down and shift very easy. I have a C-5 shift ball (Black with
the C-5 flag--very cool)
