On the end of the shaft that is going into the differential apply some differential gear oil on it.
On the axle splines going into the hub,
(making sure hub is free of rusts, pits etc) apply some motor cycle chain lube.
It sprays on like WD 40, (thin) but after a small amount of time it becomes thick.
Try "Bell RAY" chain lube, it will leave a a white like lithium grease that will last for quite a long time.
