Hey guys, I need some serious help. I'm trying to tighten up my everyday driver, 130,000 mile 2003 C5, and I've got some code issues. I was hoping if I I could get some input. I had these codes, along with the messages about Service Traction etc. They would reset and not be on whenever I started the car, and wouldn't display until I hit approximately 65 mph. I took the car to a trusted mechanic and he replaced the right front hub assembly after using his scanner on the car
C1227 LR Excessive wheel speed variation
C1228 RR "
C1233 RF Wheel speed circuit open of short
C1234 LR "
C1235 RR "
C1248 I can't find this code on my list
Now, I'm still getting the service messages and yellow dash lights when I hit 65 mph, but I'm just getting C1233. Its never there when I start the car, but when I hit around 65, it comes back. Any ideas?
Couple of things to try (search the forum for all procedures):
Check and clean all grounds
Check the male/female connectors for bent/corroded pins
Swap the secondary harness coming from the speed sensor to the main EBCM harness from right to left and see if the code changes to the left front wheel
Last but not least you can search the forum on how to remove the EBCM module; take it apart and re-solder the cold solder joints.
Since you already replaced the right front hub that’s all you can rule out at this point.
Good luck!
