While on my lunch break I started the car and the key has been stuck in the start position. I can't get the key to turn at all. I ended up putting it in gear and letting the clutch out to get it to shut off. Its still stuck and if I push the clutch back in it will start again.
I replaced my ignition lock cylinder about a month ago and I'm wondering if I didn't tighten something down enough and now something has come loose?
My main question is can I drive it home from work today with the key in the start position or would that harm my starter or something else? I have no electrical power to radio, windows, dash ect but the car will drive. Has anyone else had this happen? I searched and it seemed like their were issues with keys getting stuck but mainly C3 and C4 problems. Didn't see much on the C5.
