So I disabled CAGS two days ago. Yesterday while driving I had the UPSHIFT NOW message appear in the DIC. I did not touch the shift light settings in HPT. Both master and lamp output are set to "disabled" and the high RPM remains 12800.
The message would appear after extended periods of cruise control on the expressway. as soon as I would touch the brake pedal to disengage the cruise, the message would appear, and remain for a few minutes. This happened, under the same conditions, four or five times during the drive. Cruise control on, touch brakes, and UPSHIFT NOW appears.
Are there any other conditions that could cause the message to appear? What variables am I not seeing here? Exhaustive searching both here and on hptuners forums have yeilded nothing.
That's an odd one. Maybe put it back and then modify it again bit by bit and see what happens?
Haven't touched the PCM since, and it has not happened again. I'm just very curious as to what other inputs the PCM (and/or BCM?) are reading and using to display that code. I was pretty sure it was RPM only...
