Default External Air Temp HVAC display

Hey guys,

I did some searching on the forum and couldnt find the answer I was looking for.

My HVAC display is showing -35 degress as the outside air temp. Unless hell froze over, It would never get that cold down here in texas

I also noticed that I can no longer engage my a/c compressor. Hiting the button makes the light flash, and return to off.

I believe the incorrect temp is also disableing traction control and abs??

Not sure what the problem is. The car is not throwing any codes.

Time for a new external temperature sensor. Simple replacement and the part shouldn't be too expensive.

Do yourself a favor, and inspect the connector first. It's very common for that particular one to become corroded.

if its corroded, should I try cleaning it before getting a new sensor?

Also clean the nearby ground point.

After replacing the sensor, you will have to drive it around for 20 min or so to calibrate it.
