Here is something to get you started in the right direction:
http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corve...2001-2004.html

The BTSI solenoid is in the shifter set-up - Now the solenoid can be un-plugged down in the one you have now - this will not affect anything BUT the fact that you wont have to even put your foot on the brake to take it out of gear - You will not get stuck in Park either!

BUT I cannot confirm that it will make your 'MESSAGE' go away!

Are there any codes that you are able to pull on the DIC?

Thanks,Matt

The car is a Corvette C5 99
The code i got : 10 PCM P0705
The car is imported to Sweden, EU converted....hack job the owner before me....
The White cable on the brake pedal is cut....
No fuse on number 21 or in that section

Can you buy only the BTSI part for the transmission ?

First the part you are referring to is "NOT" the BTSI - the BTSI solenoid is mounted in the A4 shifter!

The part that is giving you trouble is located on the tranny next to the Fuel filter, and in another post I seen you changed your filter so your arm was right up against it!!!

You will need to get back under the Vette and go near the fuel filter where the Transmission switch is located! and see if the wires are all clipped on correctly and make sure it is not loose etc. Do a thorough inspection - you will probably find the problem -

It is Black in color and flat - the shifter cable will be attached to it as well

Check out this post and the information:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...rcuit-a-t.html

Here is a link to a picture and the actual part you will be looking at:
http://parts.nalleygmc.com/showAssem...&searchString=

Part Number #1 in picture: 24229422
Description: SWITCH. Back Up Lamp. Transmission Safety Start/Warning.
SWITCH,PARK/NEU POSN & B/U LP((1) 7-PIN AND (1) 4-PIN CONN)(04.054)(ACDelco #D2263C). Required: 01
SWITCH,PARK/NEU POSN & B/U LP(TRANS MTD)((1) 7-PIN AND (1) 4-PIN CONN)(ACDelco #D2263C). Required: 01
For: Y 4-SPD A/TRANS(M30) (1997-2003) (1997 - 2001)

More than likely you knocked something out of whack with your arm, could be the adjustment lever or the wires etc. --

Just take a close look and let us know what you find!

Thanks,Matt
