I drive a 1999 Corvette C5 and I currently have a Supersprint exhaust system and a Donaldson Air Force 3 air induction kit.
Next step is headers and maybe a chip, this is where I need your help, I am thinking about TPIS headers but they are pretty expensive and I would like to hear from some of you that have experience from them if they are any good and if not what do you recommend instead ????
More important, some say that a chip for the C5 is very effective but I dont know, my impression is that you dont gain so much when chipping a non-turbo engine ??? Some have recommended an american chip called Fastchip, does any of you have any experience from that particular chip or do you think that I just should forget about chipping ??????
I'm happy with them, not sure what to say other than they are not too loud and they seem to work. Forget about a chip, even with heads/cam/headers etc I don't really need one. I've got the Hypertech but it's debatable whether I would be better off with the stock programming. If you are going to get any programming check out Ed Wright, everyone seems to agree he's the best.
Thanx for your reply, Ed Wright is the guy that makes fastchip so it seems like I have gotten some good advice but I'm on the same line as you, I don't think I would gain so much by chipping.
Headers I am definetly going to buy and I've only heard positive things about TPIS so I will probably invest in those...
The TPIS headers may be expensive, bu they are by far the most inexpensive headers you'll find. TTS, FLP and Belanger I have heard great things about. Instead of headers do gears and also a converter if it is an A4, or heads/cam.
As for a reprogram its defnitely a must if its an A4.
