Default Fan 2 keeps blowing fuses.

I have a 2003 6 speed, while driving in traffic I had noticed my temperature reaching 240's. The temperature never dropped back down. I then noticed the maxifuse for fan 2 was blown. Replaced the fuse then day later same deal. This time it kept blowing the fuses once the fan started on. I then switched the fans with my other vette to see if it was the fans. It still keeps blowing the 30 amp maxifuse. I have also checked the relays and the look ok any advice would be appreciated.

Did you try using the fan relays from your other Vette?

Wow 8VETTE7 thanks for the diagram that is very helpful. Prior tho this I did swap the ignition relay and fan 2 but it still continued to burn the fuses. I will go ahead and swap the relays with the other vette and see what happens.

I got fan 2 to work but only at temp being over 230. Once it drops the temp under 220 it shuts down while fan 1 keeps working.

Both fans should ALWAYS run together.

In the Fan 1 mode, both fans are connected is series and should be running at low speed.

In the Fan 2 mode, both fans are connected in parallel and should be running at high speed.

Fan 2 is working now without blowing a fuse, I have noticed fan 2 only comes on when temp is above 235 then once temp drops it shuts off while fan 1 keeps going. I still have not seen both fans kick in at low speeds. I will just replace the relays to be on the safe side as they are not blowing no more Maxifuses.

Yes, from your description either relay 44 is stuck on or the wiring or fan for what you're calling cooling fan #2 or right fan on the schematic is causing a higher current draw to ground. It's possible the wire is damaged but not shorted, not too likely but possible. I could definately see this happening if the motor for that fan is failing.
