Default z06 starting to smoke

Alright guys my car recently started to smoke. Its 2002 z06 with 86k miles. heads/cam installed about 4 months ago. darkish gray smoke close to smoke you'd see from cold weather coming from exhaust? maybe head gasket leak? Was just on start up but now it doesnt seem to go away after start up. Id say it has a kind of "syrup" sweet smell.

"sweet" smell makes me think a bad head gasket and you're burning coolant. But it would be white smoke. Dark gray smoke makes me think either oil or excess fuel, but neither really has a sweet smell. Try pulling your spark plugs. A cylinder that has coolant leaking in will have a plug that looks super clean.

My serpentine belt actually shredded a couples weeks ago maybe it put a hole in one of the hoses? I woulldnt say it's really dark smoke it was white this morning but looked darker tonight maybe it was just the lighting... I'll check plugs tomorrow and o2 sensors make sure they are in tight so my air/fuel is right so it's not dumping fuel.

In addition to checking plugs....Check your oil levels and see if it is milky looking and check coolant levels as well. I suspect the car would have already boiled over if you were really pushing water though. What valve springs were used? Some of those dual springs can have interference (inner spring) with valve stem seal, this would cause you to burn some oil. Do you know if the OEM seals were put in, or if someone elses?

i checked oil today its really dark which makes me think they didnt change my filter when they did my oil about 1k miles ago. The oil level was perfect and had no milky color. I'll check the coolant level. I used comp 918 springs and i dk about the seals. I was thinking maybe one of the seals arnt sitting around the valve and its seeping through any thoughts? i started it today and the smoke was pretty white not much gray and wasnt smoking really bad just really light like youd see on a cold day

What does a frothy, milky substance on the dip stick signify? Water in the oil? I was checking my daughters Lexus the other day and noticed it. Thanks
