I have an 2003 AE Vert with stock wheels, 17's in front and 18's in back. I believe the sizes are: front: 17 X 8.5 and rear: 18 X 9.5.
I like the way anniversary wheels look both shape and color. So I picked up a used set of AE Wheels because I was able to get them at a good price and figured what the heck, can't hurt to have a back up.
Here is my question after that long winded introduction...
I'd like to go with 18's all the way around. Can I use the 18x9.5 wheels in front as well as in back without issues?

Thanks,

Yes, it is the size of the tire that matters, not the wheel. Rears should be at least 1|2 inch taller than the fronts. Stock is closer to 1 inch.
So...if it doesn't rub then I won't need spacers? Is that right?
Hoping more forum members chime in who are running 18X9.5 in front. I'd like to know what they had to do to get a hassle free fit. As you can tell, when it comes to the technical stuff on cars, I am a total newbie.
I responded to ljorges' PM to me, but thought I'd put it here too for those others looking for the same answers.
I'm running the magnesium 18x9.5 on all four corners, not the thin spokes, but the specs are the same 65mm offset. No spacers needed in front and the wheels are just inside the fenders. My tire selection is 275/35-18 in front, 285/40-18 in the rear. There is no rubbing, front or rear. I don't believe you'll find a larger diameter tire for the rear that fits properly on a 9.5" wheel.
You can't run the same size tires all the way around, if you go 19" on the rear, you must have 18" on the front. I know a guy who tried this an the active handling would not allow his car to go over 60 MPH.

You're only half right. The wheel size doesn't matter!
It's the overall diameter of the tires that does.
This has been covered here a zillion times. You can run 17/17, 18/18, 19/19, 20/20, etc. Your rear TIRES should be at least 1/2" larger in diameter, regardless of what wheels you're running.

I've been running 19" all around for 5 years with no problems....
Your "guy" either was blowing smoke or he ran the same size rim and rubber all around.
