Default Sway Bar Pre-load

I searched but got nothing. Lowering the suspension is going to pre-load the sway bars isn't it? Shouldn't I be looking at adjustable end links to adjust out any pre-load when I drop the suspension down?

I'm not planning to go crazy but any lowering is going to have some effect and I have to upgrade from the plastic anyway so could anyone tell me if my thinking is wrong? It seems to me lowering the chassis is going to immediately put the sways in load to some degree.

Thanks for any replies.

It will not pre-load the sway bar at all. Only if you lower it on one side.

The only way it will pre load the bar is if you lower unevenly. Keep each side even and you will not have a problem. Upgrading from plastic to metal end links is a great inexpensive upgrade. No need for adjustable endlinks unless you are going to track the car and are trying to corner balance the car exactly.

You should consider learning a little bit about your car's suspension before you start modifying your vehicle. Start here: http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets24.html

Aw, dang, I don't know why I was off on some tangent this morning. I just looked at it in my mind as I sit here and see that no, there is no pre-load on the sway as the car lowers.

No need to go any further with this.

Corner balancing should not be done with the sway bars. The sway bars should be disconnected and the springs adjusted to balance the car. Then the sway bars can be hooked up again.
