Default TAC Module problems

So About a month ago I went to go drive my car and about a half mile down the rode I got a reduce engine power. Pulled the code and got the famous P1515. So I checked the normal stuff and found a small leak in my intake. Repaired that go test drive and same thing. After that day it had been raining a lot here in FL so I hadnt had much time to look at it. Finally got some time to swap out throttle bodies with a friends thinking it might be the problem and same thing happens. So today I jack up the car and pull the pass wheel off to get the TAC module out to see if anythign was wrong with it visually or a loose connection. Get it out of the car and turn it upside down and a good amount of water comes out of it. Sooo anyone think it can be saved if I dry it out or is it done? These things seem to be impossible to get ahold of.

Try putting it in a bag of rice for a couple of days then reinstall it, if it works great if not well you know the rest.

If you do get it dried out, it may work for a while, but most likely will fail in time. Contaminants on the PCB will allow growth between the traces, and it will short out. If you water pour from the TAC, it needs to be disassembled, cleaned, and resealed.

Make sure you are grounded. Use isoproanol if possible, and a soft brush. Go over both sides of the board thoroughly, even if it looks clean. Finally, blow off with a clean compressed air source.

Alright got the TAC module put back together and all sealed up. When I installed it back in the car I flipped it over so the plugs are facing down this time. You can only use 2 of the 3 mounting points but it is still held in place nicely. Reason for doing this is it seems with the plugs facing up it makes it easy for water to get in it and not have a way to drain out. Anywho, so far so good. Car drives normal again and no reduced engine power or codes!

The plugs should never be facing up, on a device like that. Someone mounted the TAC upsidedown ? ..... The PCM and TAC should be mounted as below:

yeah im not really sure why mine was mounted the wrong way but its the right way now. Now I have another question. The TAC module is just to control the throttle body right? It wouldnt have anything to do with the A/F of the car right? Reason I ask is because It seems ever since I got the car running again I noticed on my wideband that at cruising it seems to be running leaner than usual. The other night I actually got stuck in a rain storm and it was running so lean it wouldnt even show up on my wideband. Once I got out of the rain and under an overpass it seemed to smooth back out. Car has a walbro in it that is only about 2 or 3 months old so it shouldnt be the pump. I checked the fuel pump fuse and relay and all looks good.
