I know a lot are running the C6 Z06 shocks. Am I correct in assuming the base C6 shocks would also work? Not looking for any increase in handling just dumping the F45. I figured a set of low mile takeoffs from a stock C6 should go for a song.
Last time I looked, I think the shocks for the base C-6 are the same on the C-5 but its been a long while since I looked. I normally order through eshocks.com as they seem to have the best price around. I'm not affiliated with them in the slightest, just passing along information I've found over the years and they carry Bilsteins which I like.
Thanks for the replies. I am assuming that being a performance package, the Z06 ones are stiffer. I'm looking for comfort #1. I spotted a set of C6 base shocks with 15K on them for $75. That's why I asked.
The C6 shocks work great on the C5 cars and seem to be a bit improved in ride quality.
I have 3 shocks off of a 2010 C6 coupe with 800 miles on them. Don't know what happened to the 4th shock?
If anyone is interested I'll sell for $60.
Steve just installed ARH long tubes on my 2000 Convertible and while he had it I asked him to install the C6 Z06 shocks and C6 Z51 sways kit I purchased. The kit also came with poly bushing an I replaced the plastic end links with newer metal ones. The car had stock shocks and sways. These shocks and sways are a massive improvement, like night and day. Car is much tighter and corners like a dream. If I recall there was a post here that showed C5-C6 bars in progression by diameter, I believe this set falls between the C5 Z06 and the C6 Z06. Great upgrade, worth every penny, recommend it highly.
