I haven't had any starting issues in the past. Today I went to start my 99 corvette and the battery was dead. My battery tender got unplugged and I put a regular charger on it to charge it up. After it charged, I went to start it and it just clicks like there isn't enough power to start it. The battery is at 100% now, the volatge is at 12.3 volts, and it only clicks. It has not had any issues in the past. The gages sweep when I turn the key on, but only clicks when the key is turned to start.
I searched and found some suggestions, but doesn't seem to be those issues.
Any ideas? The grounds seem to be fine. Thanks in advance.
Update: When I turn the key on, there is a sound like a buzzz coming from under the hood. It sounded like it was coming from the passenger side foot fuse box at first, when I turned the key off and then back on, it sounds like it is under the hood on the passenger side now.
Second vote for getting the battery tested. The battery may not have the current to turn over the motor which is why you will here a clicking while trying to start the car.
Radio and lights will still work since they draw a lot less current.
Well, it was the connection at the battery. I had added spades for my battery charger and they were not tight enough. I added lock washers to take up the slack and all is good again. I am glad it was than and not the starter. Thanks for the help.
