No really, after seeing this Vert, I dont think the car would look right wout out the rollbars... Just IMO.

I am surprised at the negative remarks I have read from some of you (no I am not just picking on you AL).. Especially when you dont know the facts about the fabricator - NOR - what this persons intentions are..
I dont know if they are for show only and to my understanding (which I can/could be wrong) - the vert cages are custom applications done for each car with INTENT in mind in the design..
Joe - maybe you can step in and help us out here about "being legal" and or if Vert Cages CAN even be legal.?.?

The way I understand it:
Rear supports must make contact with cross member no more than 5" from top. There is no cross member on these HOOPS! This means that you must lose the toneau.
Cross member must be three inches above drivers helmet. This means that you must lose the top. I'm 6' tall and my helmet touches the bottom liner of my top.
Cross member must extend to drivers shoulder.
Front and rear supports must be welded to metal frame. I've heard that some bolting applications are acceptable based on the gauge of the plates used for the attachments.
Front support must pass driver between shoulder and hip.
Bottom line, if you want a legal roll bar in a vert, be prepared to destroy your car. :yesnod:
I challenge anyone to tell me of a rollbar on a vert that defies this conclusion. I hope to learn that I am wrong because I can't participate in many events without the roll bar and I'm not about to donate money to some fabricator just to find out that what they did is worthless.
Also remember that a rollbar is not something that gets you into events ... it's something that is designed to save your life. Why cheat?

and
They are in the process of finishing up a single hoop bar for a convert that the CLAIM is NHRA legal.
2. If you want your top to still work without seriously cutting up the car, ya ain't getting an NHRA bar.
3. The single hoop bar in progress at SpeedWORKS is mine! IT IS NOT NHRA LEGAL! However, it is a 7-point, single hoop bar that will protect me in a roll over (my main consideration ;) ) and it will be SCCA Solo 2 legal and will get me onto open track day events (but not wheel-to-wheel road racing) and will most likely get me through tech at most drag strips. This meets my requirements, so I'm happy. :D
I should get my car back tomorrow or Thursday and will post project pics then.

I dont know much at all about the Vert Rollbars/Cages and now feel I was better off by not presenting this info with the limited knowlege I had.. As when you are the least educated on the matter - you can make yourself look real silly very quickly.. (as I did).
:conehead

It's your heard, sorry.
