daaa forgot about size that i have 17/18's (blonde moment!) kept thinking i could go side to side even.
i have heard if you keep a good alignment you can get 5K more miles out of them, but still geez that means I should be looking at new tires soon huh? i am at 12K miles.
You can "sort of" rotate them by switching them from side to side -- this means you have to unmount them from the wheels though. If you have a particularly aggressive negative camber setting, this would give you more even wear on the fronts.
Plan on getting about 28,000 miles from them if you drive reasonably -- if you milk them there is no reason why you couldn't get as much as 35,000 miles.
I had to change out my rear tires at 10k miles (worn pretty bad when I bought at 7k miles). The front tires are at 17.5k and they may last for another 3k. I replaced the rear with the firestone runflat and am planning on doing the same for the front.
"blonde moment"  (i'm laughing with ya, not at ya)
20,000 for me and look new. I have always got great mileage on all my tires, just replaced my Good Years on my original Jeep tires at 102,000 for a set.
Leslie, On my jeep I rotate every oil change as Good Year Shops rotate tires for free if you have Good Year tires on it which helps and keep tire presure at correct level. I will have the tires taken off and rotate at about 20,000 miles on my C5. I do 90% highway driving and take care of my tires and run my car hard at times but if you take care of the car they will last and dont buy all that you will not get many miles on those EMTs. I will get 40 to 50 thousand on mine. Good Year workers over the last 10 years cant believe how many miles I get on tires. Plus I found a set of new tires with only 3000 miles for $350 on the forum last year as the guy lived in a condo and had no room and bought regular tires as he was racing in the car. So I am set for tires after these go. Take car. :)
I may be wrong...but I don't believe each tire is made for a particular side (on my '94 with GSC's yes). The F1 Eagles can be rotated only if you dismount the tires and remount them swapping the left and right tires in the front and swapping the the left and rear tires (different size) just as long as the arrows on the tire face forward.
I have a flat GY EMT I kept that had 10K on it. It looks new. Then I discovered AutoX  . I have 13,700 miles on the car, and I can tell that AutoXing "accelerates" the wear of the tires. I will be happy if I make it to 20K miles on this set. :seeya
Leslie,
Have not done yet but in the next oil change or so. Mine look perfect and dont see that I need to do yet plus I am a little scared to let them take on off as I dont want them to damaged the wheels.
Several replies state how to do this, dismount fronts and switch them, then the rears. Make sure the arrows point in the right direction. Works great, we have done it twice. Realign the car after doing the switch.
