I would highly recommend talking with Rick Kim. His link is on the left side of the page. RKT56.com.
I don't believe changing the gears in our cars is as easy as it sounds. There is quite a bit of measuring to get the job done right.
If you decide to get your diff built, Rick is the man. I've said it several times on this forum, but it is still true. The diff w/ 3.90 gears he built for me is still quiet and running strong.
Do a google search for Corvette C5 ring and pinion. Price is somewhere around $350 if I remember correctly.
Used gears will work, but are difficult to set up because you can't get a good visual pattern. It can be done by an experienced installer I'm sure, but the odds of them being quiet would be small.
Used gear prices? How would we know that? Going to depend on what the seller asks vs. what you are willing to pay I would think. Free sounds good to me due to the setup issues mentioned above.

You can find them from Summit or Jeggs.
We sell micro polished sets for $460.
I would NOT recommend using used gear no matter how good they are. Time/money to have it set up/install into the car isn't worth it if it ends up noisy.
