HI, I need a T-500 Torex to remove the seat belt bolts. Anyone have one that I can borrow, or know where I can buy one? I can't find a T-500 at pep boy, etc... I tried a t-50 and that worked on 3 of the 4 but the last one won't budge and I don't want to damage the bolt.

The Torx T-50 is an SAE standard size that's been around for years. Lots of tool manufacturers make it. Never heard of a "T-500". Where did you get that number?
I picked up a sears t-50 since they don't carry a t-500 / "T-50 GM size"
Snap-on Tools does if anyone needs one.
Why can't GM use a "normal" T-50? They have to make it difficult and create their own T-50 Size

Corvette C5 & Z06 installation information: Model R-1115 fits both coupe & fixed roof models. Does not fit convertibles. Main bar attaches to shoulder belt mounting points in 'B" pillars. Anti-rotation support tubes run from main support bar to seat track mounting point. Support rods will not interfere with operation of the seats. Bar does not interfere with removable top when stowed away. Lap belt mounting kits are sold separately. The seam in the trim where the seat belt protrudes must be widened approximately 3/16" to accommodate mounting hardware for the outside lap belt mount kit. A T-500 socket is used to remove GM factory seat belt hardware. This tool is available from serveral popular tool manufactures. See T-500 Part# FTX47E socket with bit available from SNAP-ON TOOLS - 800.926.5544 EXT# -5566 or at http://www.snapon.com

I ran into this same problem finding one when installing my harness bar. Since I could not wait for one to be shipped, and since I was not reusing the seat belt bolts I took a hack approach and used an allen wrench... Worked fine to get them out and installed the Brey-Krause with no problems. Just a FYI in case anyone else needs to do this swap in a pinch.

I am so glad there is someone else that had the same problem!!! Every place I called about a T-500 told me I was wrong and I needed to use a T-50, etc. etc... GM

Re: Need a T-500 Torex.. ????!!??!? (Bluewasp)
What's really wierd to me is that the Brey-Krause site says "T-500" for both the C-4 and C-5 and then refers to the Snap-On part number FTX47E.
When you go to the Snap-On site, their own illustration and text refers to that part number as a T-50. I still can't figure out where the "T-500" number is coming from. Anybody?
No. Reread the snap-on site. Snap-on calls the torx "T-50/GM Style" There is a difference from a "T-50/GM Style" and a Normal SAE T-50. A normal T-50 from sears, pepboys, etc. Does NOT fit perfect. There is SOME play...

I did see the reference to "GM" T-50 in Snap-On's ad. I remember using a Torx when I removed my seat belt anchor bolts in the past and don't recall a problem. Oh well, maybe I just got lucky with mine and a regular T-50 worked. Maybe this "T-500" would be the SAE equivalent to a "T-51 or T-52" (if there was such a thing)
