Default Is My Coupe This Light?

I wanted to see what you guys thought about this. A few months ago I went to a drag racing event in which they weighed my car with me in it. The man told me it came in at 3240lbs. Now, Im 6'6 260lbs, so can the car really be under 3000lbs? These are some of the "weight mods" the car has: No heavy mufflers and piping (just a short xpipe with two bullet mufflers under the car), no heavy stock exhaust manifolds (lighter headers), no ac system including condenser, lighter aluminum wheels, no passenger seat (that day), lightweight forged internals (pistons and rods, who knows how much a diff that makes), and Michelin Super Sports which are much lighter than stock runflats. The C5 coupe's advertised curb weight is 3245lbs. So, is it really that light? I gotta find a truck scale station.

It is entirely possible that your C5 is around 3000 lbs, given the list of "weight mods" that you have performed.

I calculated my curb weight at 3527 lbs with full fuel tank and no driver. I based that off a truck scale weight of 3700 lbs with me and about 150 lbs of luggage. But, I have an LQ9 iron block, plus a subwoofer box that weighs 75 pounds or so.

A truck scale would give you a much better idea of your curb weight.

Sounds about right to me.

Thanks guys. I started doubting after a few friends couldnt believe it. No wonder these cars dont need a ton of hp to really move.

I believe your vehicle weight with you in it is about right. A/C equipment, ie: condenser, compressor, belt, hoses, etc add up to a pretty hefty load. Headers and your simplified mufflers also trim some weight.
