my 2000 coupe has what i think could be a short in the BCM. The DIC does NOT work. it displays the odometer at all times. The buttons to change the DIC do absolutely nothing. I had a local autoshop plug a computer in to see if it was tripping any codes and i was told it is showing a ton of codes. This is why i am inclined to think it is a short in the BCM.
Anybody had any experience with this or any suggestions? I'm trying to see what i can figure out prior to paying the dealer price to look into it!

I'm not sure. The mechanic who did it for me said there were pages of codes being sent from the BCM. My headlights also blink quickly with no bulb out, i suspect this is also controlled by the BCM?

Headlights blink quickly?? Do you mean "turn signals" blink quickly?
Either way, you need to buy a scanner, so you can post your codes. It's much easier to troubleshoot, when you have all the codes.

I did mean turn signals. It just seems like regardless of the code if it's throwing that many fromt he BCM there has to be a problem. But then again i'm not well trained in the electrical departement
Anybody in the South Florida area good with this stuff that would be willing to give me a hand?????
Hmmmmmmm, South Florida, summer, rain, lots of humidity, need to run the AC a lot.......
Have you checked the passenger footwell carpet to see if it is wet???
Have you pulled up the toe kick in the passenger footwell to see if the aluminum box the BCM board is in has water stains or white oxidation on the aluminum???
Is there moisture inside the IP fuse box????
Not a replacement for having codes but it might be a starting point about what could be going on.
the carpet doesn't feel wet or have signs of stains...i'll have to look at the BCM and see if there is oxidation. At the risk of sounding like a newbie (because i am) is the BCM just up under the glove box or is it in the side kick panel? What is the easiest way to access it?
