does anyone know if wheels from 2001 to 2004 C5 will work on 1998 C5?

Yes they will work. They are all the same offsets. You can also run C5 Z06 wheels too. The C5Z06 wheels are 1" wider in front/rear and will put a little more tire to the pavement.
