curious if anyone around the augusta, georgia area has any good referrals on a good place to have my car tuned. i have a 98 coupe, pretty well stock. over 100k miles. is a tune even necessary without any engine mods? what is a reasonable price for a tune?

Without any changes,there is very little to gain,with a custom tune.In the atlanta area,about 150 miles from you MTI charges 650.00.Don't waste your time.Vengence around Cummings, charges a little less..

If the car is stock, then it is generally not worth the money. Automatics will benefit a little more since a tuner will generally speed up and firm up the shifts. So, there is some benefit to it for automatics.

Vengeance is $590, and for 1 year after that you can update the tune as many times as you need for $175 per update. Mine is going there for headers and tune on the 13th. I wouldn't fool with it unless you mod the engine or exhaust (headers).
