Default help needed drivetrain problem..

The other day I was running the car hard leaving a stoplight when I shifted into third I heard a clank then a grinding sound, sounded like it was grinding gears and that it was coming from the bell housing. I put it into neutral and the sound remained until I pushed in the clutch. I coasted down the hill to the nearest parking lot. I tried going through the gears and using out the clutch but it sounded like it would not go all the way into gear grinding sound again. My immediate thought was the shifter rod came loose and it was not engaging gears all the way. I checked and all was tight. Had it towed to the house and put it on jackstands, with the clutch in and car running I don't hear any sounds no matter what gear I am in. when I tried letting the clutch out the car stalled like the e-brake is holding the tires from spinning. I can manually rotate the rear tires easily no matter what gear the transmission is in and the car easily rolls forward and backward on the ground. With the bell housing cover off I noticed the torque tube shaft splines are not rotating when I manually rotate the clutch. No difference between neutral or in gear, I also noticed there was at least an inch of splines visible between the flywheel and the clutch fingers. As I rotated the clutch manually it became more difficult to turn then easy again, I looked inside the clutch and noticed the splines had slid into the flywheel more and there was only a half inch of splines showing now. It's probably also worth mentioning that I just recently started to feel a very slight vibration around 2000 rpm. I am leaning towards the fact that the torque tube bushings may have broken or colts came loose and possibly sheered them off. I am hoping that it's not input shaft on the transmission, I would think if it broke I would have heard a much louder sound then I did. When I spin the rear tires on the jack stands they both spin in sync also feels like all the gears are engaging while cycling through them... Any other possibilities or diagnosing that I can do? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

That really does sound like the driveshaft in the torque tube is broken. Binding inside the tube could cause it to lock-up and stall the engine. I can't see how the clutch could stall the engine unless a piece was sticking out and jambing into the bellhousing.

Someone here just recently had a rear driveshaft coupling failure cause similar issues.

Yea I was really hoping that a flywheel bolt came loose and was wedged in there... But nothing is ever that easy lol

Yes you are right again captain obvious. The 2 * that I noticed the "very slight" vibration I just dismissed it as the grading of the road or my tires. Rather than yanking out my whole drive train again to chase down a possible ghostly problem. I choose to drive it until it breaks I can only hope that it doesn't cause any extra damage but it is a risk I felt worth taking . I listened to my dad growing up, it wasn't broke so I didn't fix it. Now it is and I will. and life goes on. But I couldn't have figured out what is wrong without you trying to point out how stupid I am, as you do on many members threads.
