I'm going to try & replace all the bulbs in my HVAC dual control panel. Do i have to have a desoldering tool? I have seen most of the post on here about this. Any help would be appreciated.
Yeh it would help. Did mine a while back with bulbs bought at radio shack. Easy fix.
I just purchased the bulbs from Radio Shack & looks like ill be needing a desoldering tool. First time performimg surgey like this hopefully i wont burn the car to the ground
Desoldering tool helps a lot to insure you have a clean hole for inserting the new lamp. Use a soldering iron no greater than 35watt so you hopefully won't burn the board.

I was able to complete the job without a desoldering gun & would not recommend ever doing this job without one..HAHA. What a pain. Took me 3 1/2 hours.Finished the job & forgot one bulb. DANG!! Looks a million times better.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. You don't need a special tool, you should be able to buy solder wick. IIRC, that is what we used when I worked for a defense subcontractor.

Thanks! Wouldn't have been able to do such a job without all the GREAT write ups on the Forum.
