Just went to one of the shops here in San Diego and they were very 'Pro' halltech intakes. I got on Halltech's website and saw two of them. Does anyone know the difference between the T-1C and the T-1 sidewinder? Other than the sidewinder is carbon fiber and the T-1C just looks black plastic? Oh, and there is a $200 difference in the price tag. I want my car to breath easier, but am not really into the carbon fiber look, unless of course it's going to give me something the other one won't in performance. I emailed Halltech with the same question, but the folks on the forum aren't trying to sell me something. Thanks in advance, doug
I'm not familiar with the Halltach intakes. As for the materials, carbon fiber will be a little lighter, but you could save as much weight by taking a leak before getting in your car. The only other difference may be heat conductivity, but I doubt carbon has an advantage over plastic that could ever be measured at the flywheel, let alone the rear wheels.
Just got a reply from Halltech and he said that the only difference is that the one is made of carbon fiber and that is why there is such a difference in $. Same gains associated with both. Think I'll go with the composite plastic one, not big into the carbon fiber look, and the only thing I want anyone to see is my C5 exhaust plate and the taillights!
